The 50th Annual GRAMMY Awards nominations were recently announced and I have just one question, Huh? Well that’s really not a question, it’s more of an exasperated attempt at humor, but nonetheless, some of the nominations are beyond headscratching. The Foo Fighters for Album of the year over the likes of Timbaland, Beyonce, Daughtry, Lily Allen. And how could Daughtry not even get a best new artist nod? Sounds a little fishy to me, but hey, the Grammy’s have lost their luster to me anyway.

Congrats to a few of my favorite artists receiving nominations this year. Raheem DeVaughn for Best R&B Male Vocal performance for “Woman“, Chrissette Michelle, Jill Scott, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, and Fantasia for Best R&B Female Vocal performance, Ledesi for Best New Artist and Best R&B Album, Jill Scott and Chaka Khan for Best R&B Album; and Alice Smith, Dwele, and Vikter Duplaix for Best Urban/Alternative Performance.
